A folder is a verdict. You decide the work belongs over there, then you stop seeing it. A nested page is a sentence that still has a next sentence.
Quire treats nesting as a habit of attention. The parent sheet remains a document you can read on Friday. The children remain documents you can open without leaving the argument.
The parent has to stay a page
If the cover of a nest is a list of links, you have rebuilt a folder. The parent should still argue, still have a first paragraph, still end.
The children are evidence, not navigation.
Depth without a map
Unlimited depth is only useful if one sheet is visible at a time. Quire shows the current page, a ribbon back to its parent, and the nested cards that belong to it. It does not show a tree that wants to be a product.
How to start
Write the parent as if nothing will be nested. Then tuck the research underneath when the parent starts to lie by omission.
